About Founder

Face Sango grew up in the outskirts of the Okavango Delta in a remote village known as Khwai which is neighbouring Moremi Game Reserve in the northern Botswana, a perfect place to nurture a passion for wildlife, guiding and training. He was raised by his San parents also known as Bushmen Tribe – the first inhabitants of Southern Africa.

With an insatiable passion for birds, predators, frogs and other wildlife, Face’s entire childhood revolved around nature and the outdoors. At 12 Face spent time camping at every opportunity during school holidays with his two elder brothers, exploring the wilderness and learning variety of wild flowers, birds and tracking skills. He learnt a lot from his brothers, who are undoubtedly, renowned safari guides in Botswana.

Face Sango is held in high esteem by his peers and colleagues in the safari industry both in Botswana and internationally. Having been a safari guide for over 12 years in and around the Okavango, Face has gone through various ‘cracker courses’ within the ambit of natural sciences, entomology, ornithology, astronomy, animal behavior, lodge management etc. It is his desire and passion to interact and serve the discerning eco travelers to the magical areas we are so privileged to have grown up and continue to live at.

It is this wealth of knowledge we are happy to share and impart to our guests for an unforgettable and life changing experiences. In 2007, Face was involved in wildlife research on carnivores, predominantly African Wild Dogs, Spotted Hyenas, Cheetahs, Leopards and Lions and their ecology for over 5 years and he developed another passion in Wildlife Photography. He became a Safari Guide Trainer and ultimately a Lodge Manager.

His understanding of the trade, planning and leading safaris, interaction with international guests (USA, UK and Europe in general, Africa), travel agents and Safari staff is beyond doubt. Face’s sober habits and outgoing character with people has earned him overwhelming rapport and absolute respect which translates to guests’ comfort and trust in his guiding and safari leadership.

Face is also very good with people and has a passion for the communities in Botswana and works closely with Foundations on different projects engaging the local communities.
